Grade 3 – iPads for Collaborative and Differenciated Learning

The two incredible teachers that make up the grade 3 homeroom team developed and implemented an effective lesson for grade3 students to study space by combining both a paper/pencil task with the use of iPads. In pairs or individually students used the NASA app on their iPads to research and collect data to answer various questions on their information organizers. They worked collaboratively to find the answers, took turns writing as well as exploring the beautiful and interactive solar system graphic provided on the NASA app. The students were engaged, inquisitive and worked cooperatively to develop their answers. The iPads are a great tool for young students due to their tactile nature and user friendly app system. Both teachers were really able to motivate and captivate their students’ interest in this lesson!
